Yes!!! I lied. I bullied that poor little girl/guy. I gossiped about my friend and painted her black in front of others. I even dropped out of school thinking I will do better living the sweet life. I got rid of my unborn baby. Here I am today with nothing to boost of. I’m and have always been a horrible person. My attitude sucks. It’s impossible for someone to have me as a friend or even an acquaintance. I’m not worth being in the company of good people.
It’s sad how you condemn yourself sometimes. Birds when they fall, they still struggle to get up and fly. On the other hand, humans have a higher tendency of self-condemnation. I am almost certain this isn’t the case with other creatures. Sometimes I think it is because God gave humans the authority to rule over everything. Your mistakes withhold you from forgiving yourself. They prevent you from giving yourself a second chance. Heaven minimizes nothing you do; good or bad. A second chance reveals the beauty of corrections. It is written in one of the best books (Bible) that God loves to correct/reprimand you because he loves you and wants you to thrive. Mistakes are usually best when we learn from them and stick to the corrections. Maybe if you were perfect you wouldn’t be here on earth.
I choose to learn from my mistakes. I’ll forgive myself, take a second chance and do it right. If there’s something withholding you from doing the same, you might want to think about the beautiful opportunities you’re denying yourself. You must thrive irrespective of the mistakes made. Mistakes= Miss to take. Go then and get what was entitled to you. Give yourself a second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, infinite chances. You aren’t perfect. Nothing is.
Bob Marley once said “The most beautiful things are not perfect, they are special.”
Mistakes are the best teachers especially when you learn from them. Mistakes only make you special when you stick to the corrections. Start practicing “not doing the things you know you are not supposed to be doing”. Set your corrections in motion.Remember Christ came for the wounded not the healed.
Yes, it is important that you recognize your mistakes and short comings. But the essence is not to wallow in self-condemnation and self-pity. Rather, the goal is to bring out something meaningful out of your mistakes.
